Windows XP shows "Error 10" and the USB 2 device is not working at all.
"Error 10" means that the device has not been connected to a USB 2 port. Most probably you connected the device to a USB 1 port. It could also mean that your USB 2 port does not deliver the proper power level.
We have seen some USB 2 ports which do not fulfill the USB 2.0 specification and do not deliver enough power or were internally connected with a USB 1 hub which will either produce such an error message or cause dropouts. In these cases try other USB 2 ports available at the computer. Disconnect other USB devices.
See the Related Articles section on the bottom for explanation on how to check if your computer is equipped with an USB 2 port.
