How to uninstall / reinstall a third party KONTAKT PLAYER 2 OEM software on a Mac

This article assumes that the full sample library of the product in question is already residing on an external or internal hard disk. It is a useful guide for users who have a library activation problem or who want to install the product on a new computer without having to re-copy all of the sample material.

1. First you should delete the files related to this particular library by deleting the following files. (Note that you may not have ALL of these files, please just delete the ones you have.)

- Macintosh HD / Library / Preferences / com.native-instruments.<productname>.plist

- Macintosh HD / User / Library / Preferences / com.native-instruments.<productname>.plist

- Macintosh HD / Applications / KONTAKT PLAYER 2

2. If you have made personal changes to your product library, it is recommended to create a backup in order to keep your work.

How to create a backup:

- Within the product sample library folder, locate the "Instruments" and "Multis" folders and rename them as follows: "Instruments BUP" and "Multis BUP"

Reason for the backup: During the re-installation process, the installer will overwrite original files, while it will not touch files which have new names.

3. Note that some libraries come with multiple disks while others just provide a one-DVD-package.

- If you have a product with multiple disks, please insert disk No1 and reinstall the product with the original installer. Use EASY install mode, or use Custom Install (but make sure to allow the installer to install the Library). When you are asked to point the installer to the desired location for the library, be sure to select the folder that currently contains the library folder. After it reaches the end of the FIRST DISK, you can safely quit the installation.

- If you have a "one-disk/one-DVD-product", you should reinstall the product with the original installer and quit it when it is completed. Use EASY install mode, or use Custom Install (but make sure to allow the installer to install the Library).

4. After finishing the installation process, please run SERVICE CENTER to activate the product. Within the SERVICE CENTER Update Manager, you can download the latest update for KONTAKT PLAYER 2 . This is recommended.

5. To complete the installation, run KONTAKT PLAYER 2 standalone and load a patch from the library.
