How can I completely uninstall and reinstall TRAKTOR PRO on my Mac OS X computer?
Follow these instructions to completely uninstall and reinstall the TRAKTOR PRO software
from your Mac OS X machine.
This may resolve technical problems in some cases when no other solution can be found.
1. Back up your user data and track information!!!
The following folder contains all of your track collection information. If you wish to save this information you must make a backup copy of the Traktor user info folder; this can be found at the following location (the ~ symbol refers to your user home directory) unless you changed it to a custom location when you installed the program:
* Macintosh HD/Users/~/Documents/Native Instruments/Traktor
If you installed to a custom location, then you need to find it and back it up yourself.
Simply copy or duplicate the contents of this folder into another backup location, then copy the files back into the folder after you have reinstalled TRAKTOR.
2. Uninstall the application
To uninstall TRAKTOR, simply delete the following files and folders on your Mac (the ~ symbol refers to your user home directory):
* Macintosh HD/Applications/Traktor Pro (the application will be in this location unless you specified a different location during installation)
* Macintosh HD/Library/Preferences/com.native-instruments.Traktor Pro.plist
* Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/Native Instruments/Traktor
(make sure you have backed up the contents of this folder as described above)
* Macintosh HD/Users/~/Library/Preferences/com.native-instruments.Traktor Pro.plist
Note: On newer Mac OS systems where 10.7 (Lion) is installed, the User Library folder is hidden. To access it, click on the task bar entry 'Go' and press down the Alt key. The Library entry will become visible in the drop-down menu and can now be selected.
3. Reinstall TRAKTOR
Now you can reinstall the TRAKTOR software from your TRAKTOR disc or from the latest update installer.
