Compatibility of Native Instruments products with Snow Leopard - Mac OS X 10.6
This article lists known issues with some Native Instruments products under the Apple Mac OS 10.6 (Snow Leopard) operating system.
MASCHINE 1.0.0 DVD installer
Note: This topic only concerns MASCHINE installation discs labeled with "copyright 2008".
After installing Maschine on Mac OS 10.6.x from a DVD labeled with "copyright 2008" the Maschine controller will not work.
No matter if you have previously tried to install Maschine from such a disc under 10.6 or if you have not tried this, the following procedure will let you install.
To install Maschine, download the installer "MASCHINE 1.0.3 Fix for Mac OS X 10.6" (note the word "Fix" in this name) from the protected update manager on our website:

Access to this page requires to login with your username and password. Also Maschine needs to be registered in your account. In case you still do not have an account at Native Instruments, or you have an account but not registered Maschine in your account, please contact our registration support. They can add a Maschine registration to your account and, if necessary, create a new account for this. Please do not forget to send them your Maschine serial number.
After downloading, start the MASCHINE 1.0.3 Fix for Mac OS X 10.6 installer.
Enter the Maschine Installer DVD (Mac version) when requested and let the installer finish.
When the installation has finished, download and install the latest update for Maschine ("MASCHINE 1.0.3 Mac OS X Update" or newer).
TRAKTOR 3/TRAKTOR 3 LE/TRAKTOR SCRATCH
The TRAKTOR 3 platform (this includes "TRAKTOR SCRATCH" as well) is not compatible with Snow Leopard. You might experience crashes when playing back tracks and other issues. Therefore we recommend to abandon installing Snow Leopard in case you still intend to use these former TRAKTOR versions. We offer updates to TRAKTOR PRO and TRAKTOR SCRATCH PRO in our online shop which are fully compatible with Snow Leopard.
If you are using TRAKTOR 3 LE as OEM version, coming as added software with a third party controller, please contact the manufacturer of the controller for your update options or make use of our TRAKTOR PRO Upgrade offer in the online shop.
TRAKTOR PRO / TRAKTOR SCRATCH PRO / TRAKTOR DUO / TRAKTOR LE 1.1.2
The version 1.1.2 installers of these products are not compatible with Snow Leopard. Problem, among others, is that SERVICE CENTER will not recognize TRAKTOR after installation, so that no product activation is possible. Also, you will get an error message when starting TRAKTOR indicating that the TRAKTOR settings file could not be found. In order to fix this, please install the current TRAKTOR PRO demo and unlock this with your serial number by entering this in Service Center under "Traktor". This works also for the TRAKTOR SCRATCH, DUO and LE, since these can also be unlocked with the same demo version. You can request a download link for the demo here:

After you have installed the demo, SERVICE CENTER will recognize "TRAKTOR", so that you can enter your serial number and finish the activation. At the next start of TRAKTOR also the error message regarding the settings file will be gone.
AUDIO KONTROL 1 Mapping Tool
Version 1.0.2 of this tool will not work on MacOS 10.6.x. We have provided a compatible Mapping Tool in the knowlegde base. Please refer to the related articles to download this.
AKOUSTIK PIANO
AKOUSTIK PIANO will crash under MacOS 10.6.x. when you select a room after loading a piano. As a workaround we recommend to download and install the latest KONTAKT PLAYER. You then find an AKOUSTIK PIANO library box on the Libraries tab in the KONTAKT PLAYER browser from where you can load the AKOUSTIK PIANO instruments. You also get the library box in the full version of KONTAKT 3.5 or higher.
ELEKTRIK PIANO 1.5
When trying to use certain patches from the "Authentic Instruments" folder in the Elektrik Piano 1.5 library, Logic may unexpectedly quit. As a workaround we recommend to download and install the latest KONTAKT PLAYER. You then find an ELEKTRIK PIANO library box on the Libraries tab in the KONTAKT PLAYER browser from where you can load the ELEKTRIK PIANO instruments. You also get the library box in the full version of KONTAKT 3.5 or higher.
Leopard Installer Patch
Some legacy installers which did not work under 10.5 Leopard will cause the same issue under Snow Leopard, so that the so called "Leopard installer fix" is still relevant for 10.6. For more information check the "Related Articles" section below.
Bandstand, B4II, Pro-53, Vokator, Spektral Delay
Bandstand, B4II, Pro-53, Vokator and Spektral Delay are discontiuned products and have therefore not officially been tested under Mac OS X Snow Leopard. Bandstand patches can be loaded in Kontakt 4. In regards to B4II we offer the "'57 Drawbar Organ" Powered By Kore instrument, plus there are many organ instrument patches in the current Kontakt 4 Library.

Thanks I guess. Its still better then Serato except for no video playback yet!
So NI is telling those of us who bought Traktor 3, that we're are out of luck if we have updated to the improved Mac OS 10.6, that the only way to use Traktor again is to purchase Traktor Pro...not cool NI, not cool.
Traktor 3 was ropey from the start. The mix recorder function never worked...ever...to the point that I'm not sure why it was ever included in the final release build... And now I'm going to have too upgrade to keep using Traktor with Snow Leopard? Stick it... Customer lost... Ableton Live next thanks...
Very disappointed that traktor 3 does not run run on Mac OS 10.6 and the fix you offer is spend more money and upgrade! This is going to happen to more and more of us as OS 10.6 becomes the standard, might be an idea NI to fix this, another customer lost

I have been using Traktor 3 with trator scratch for a long time and upgraded to trakto pro about 6 months ago. I have not upgraded my OSX from tiger to leopard and now Snow leopard because i still use traktor 3 as well. Some things in traktor 3 (ie beatmasher) is much better (more responsive) than in traktor pro. Therefore I am left to either not upgrade my OSX so i can use traktor 3 or upgrade my OSX and not be able to use traktor 3. This is very dissapointing. Anyway i hope this helps, i am a big fan of NI products and hope something can be done to resolve these issues.
I was searching for KORE 2 and os x 10.6. This item gave no info. I am getting desperate as my kore 2 hard/software is not working since I work with os x 10.6. Your latest drivers are also nog functioning
